Plank Style
Solid wood plank construction table tops consist of identical length, random width solid wood planks that are laid edge-to-edge to create a solid effect with a random appearance to the grain pattern. Staves can range from 1½" to 4" wide.
Distressed Pine, Mixed Plank Style
Distressed Mixed Plank Pine tops will vary in color from medium to dark brown with some knots and with wavy, curly and straight grain. Distressed Mixed Plank Pine tops are hand-sanded to leave light to medium rustic texture in some areas with a smooth surface on the rest of the table top. The edge profile is a combination of hand scraped and eased corners and edges.
Reclaimed, Distressed Style
Reclaimed, Distressed Pine Plank tops are stained as shown. Tops can be a mix of species such as southern yellow pine and red pine. Some dark-colored staves are included to add interruptions to the wood's more uniform grain and color. Pine Plank tops are hand-sanded smooth with original distress marks which are then accented by the hand rubbed stain. The edge profile is a combination of hand scraped and eased corners and edges. Surface is sealed and finished with multiple coats of acrylic polyurethane in a matte sheen to promote durability and ease of maintenance.
Reclaimed Pine, Rustic Patina Plank Style
Reclaimed Pine, Rustic Patina Plank tops are stained as shown. Reclaimed Pine Plank tops show original circular-saw cut lines combined with scratches and distress marks acquired over a century of use. The heavily textured rustic surface is sanded smooth enough to run your hands over, stained and then sealed and finished with multiple coats of acrylic polyurethane in a matte sheen to promote durability and ease of maintenance.

Large tabletops require sufficient support. In addition to an appropriate table base bottom size it is important to determine if your top will need multiple vertical columns, large diameter columns, oversize top plates or oversize spiders.
Commercial table tops and table bases are usually sold separately. It is for this reason, among others, that table tops are NOT predrilled on the underside for table base attachment. Solid wood tops often have three or more holes on the underside to facilitate manufacturing.
