KITCHEN REMODELED

A poem by Patti Gibbons

Eight days before Turkey Day,
don't know what possessed me,
I'll tear down my kitchen!!
The thought just obsessed me.

The plans were all sitting
Inside of my head
The rest of my family
Were filled with deep dread

You're tearing down walls!
You're ripping up floors!
You're rerouting wiring!
You're knocking down doors!

And where, they all asked,
Will we sit when you're through?
You've thrown out the table
And all the chairs too.

I searched and I surfed
long into the night.
Then what should appear ~
The kpetersen site.

I said, "Don't you worry,
Stay calm and stay cool
I've searched high and low
For the ultimate stool".

A stool that's so rad
And so swell and so neat
That we'll be the envy
Of all on our street.

A stool full of color and
Glitter and chrome,
A stool that will brighten
The drabbest of homes.

I ordered just four,
but I loved what I chose
This was much better
Than jewelry or clothes

And in no time at all
I heard my kids exclaim,
"Look mom, there's boxes,
the chairs came…they came!".

Each one was housed
in its own cardboard home,
With duct tape, and bubbles and plastic and foam..

Unwrapping each stool
With much anticipation
I'm sure there's less wrap
used in mummification!

There's hot pink, and fuchsia, bright blue and cool green,
These chairs are the niftiest
I've ever seen.

And my family all said,
As we plunked down our bottoms,
Thanks Kurt & Scott
We sure glad we bought ‘em!

Have a wonderful holiday season, and thanks for your terrific service.
